Quarantine Life Part 2|Books, Movies, Devotionals and Music To Keep Boredom Away 🙂
Today (25th August 2020) marks the 5th month since quarantine started (in my country). These 5 months have been an arena for different experiences and new life situations. This is quarantine life part two and this one is going to tell you the books, movies, music and devotionals that have helped me keep away from being bored which seems to be the thriving problem for everyone who has to stay at their home almost 24/7 and can only leave for an important/valid reason.
Hi! This is Nnenna and welcome to Lovable. In my previous entry on this series, I focused on things I have learnt during quarantine so definitely check it out if you haven't seen it.
BOOKS
Not long after Quarantine was announced, My mum sent me a link to Amazon audibles. Subscriptions were/are no longer needed for this Lockdown period. It has been an avenue for me to read books(by listening) and keep myself busy. These are books I have read so far on audible:
1. The Liar's Daughter by Megan Cooley Peterson and narrated by Melissa Moran~
This book was so interesting and most times I would lay on my bed whether it was dark or not and listen with my ear phones plugged in. I was so determined to finish the book.
2. A Summer To Die by Lois Lowry and narrated by Andi Arndt ~
A summer to die is a very amazing book and if you want to Stir up your emotions a little bit, then you should definitely read. Any average teenage girl would totally adore this.
3. The Mystery of Alice by Lee Bacon and narrated by 'a lot of people' ~
The book is an interesting one; a mystery genre. It is about rich kids and a girl named Emily and her friend. However, I Loved reading A Liar’s Daughter and A Summer To Die, more.
I am currently reading ~
4. Purity Rocks by Tinu Asegieme (Not on audible) ~
It is an inspirational/ motivational book and I spend 40 minutes a day reading it. I like the way the writer uncovers different hidden truths. It is suitable for teenagers, people in relationships and also married people.
5. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and narrated by Thandie Newton.(On audible and PDF) ~
When I was in primary school (year 4) I read a summarised version of this book and I absolutely loved it. When I was 10, my mum downloaded PDFs for my older brother and I to read. We discovered there was a longer version of the book and she downloaded it for me just as requested. But the book had a lot of words that I could not comprehend. Few days ago, on 22/8/20, I saw it on audible and knew that it would be easier for me to read the PDF whilst I listen. This is one of the best books I have read and I am eager to finish the original book.
N:B ~ When you start reading any of these books especially on audible, you might feel the want to not continue but move on and you will love it...
DEVOTIONALS
I usually do 'Our Daily Bread devotionals' every night with my family and it led to my first ever personal devotional by YMI which I did for 20 days. I enjoyed having a personal devotional so I started my current one ~ ODB 365 FOR TEENS which is an app you can download on your device.
MOVIES
~ When The Bough Breaks
This is a Netflix movie with Regina Halls. It is HD and a perfect fit for movie nights.
~ The Old Guard
It was so fascinating how in this movie, the crew tries to make something that is non-existent, exist; immortals...
~ Overcomer
If you have watched the movie war room and you Loved it, you are certainly going to adore this one.
~ Teenage Bank Heist
I feel this is not a recent movie. It was probably acted about 10 years ago but that doesn't kill its vibe.
When you are clueless of what you feel like watching, consider this.
~ Chief Daddy
This is one of the best Nigerian movies I have watched.
~ God's Calling
This movie is rated (for me) a 100/100. Well acted and very interesting, this is definitely a top notch.
~ Bring It On
This is interesting. If you like dancing and competitions, this is for you.
MUSIC
These are the 20 top songs I have listened to in Quarantine:
~ Uncomplicated by Hillsong Young and Free
~ Who You Are by Hillsong Worship
~ Upper Room by Hillsong Worship
~ Here I Am To Worship by Hillsong
~ The Blessing by Elevation Worship
~ Whole Heart by Hillsong United
~ Every Little Thing by Hillsong Young and Free
~ Even When It Hurts by Hillsong United
~ Elevate by Tatiana Manaois
~ Yesterday Everyday Always by Tatiana Manaois
~ By Your Side by Tatiana Manaois
~ Beautiful People by Ed Sheeran
~ Heaven Rocks by Frank Edwards
~ Ocean Eyes by Billie Elish
~ Bop Daddy by Falz and Ms Banks
~ Roxanne by Arizona Zervas
~ Why by Rema
~ Intentions by Justin Beiber ft Quavo
