My Amazing Mummy๐
Everyday I look at myself in the mirror,
Everyday I look at a new pimple on my skin,
Any day I spot a clog of dirt under my nails,
Any day I have to change an outfit ‘cause I don't like it,
Those days that I wish I had longer hair,
Those days I care about what people would say,
I remember the day that I laid on mummy's laps and she said I am beautiful
Anyone who does not like my beauty shouldn't bother
Mummy said I'm beautiful in Christ and I don't need anyone to tell me that.
Hey Loveys. Welcome back to Lovable. The past month has left you guys with no posts. But, I am here once again. Today, I would be writing specially for my Mum.
Some days, when I think of her I begin to cry. She is the best Mummy that God has created. She is priceless, humble and a good mother. She is kind, soft spoken, amazing and God gifted. If everyone had a mama like mine, trust me when I say this: I guarantee that no trouble would exist in the world today. There would be peace, harmony, understanding and most importantly: discipline.
My mummy is a special gem. And if you ever come across her, You would know that mummy is in my life for a reason God had put a lot of time into.
I remember when I was small, I had this little diary. It was lost for sometime. In there, I wrote things no one should ever see. I wasn't the nice and respectful Nnenna many people know today. I always wrote about how annoyed I was because of my mummy or my siblings. There were a lot of entries about mummy spanking me, shouting at me, annoying me๐.
One thing I never wrote was that I hated mummy. There were times when I doubted her Love, but ...(I am beginning to sob...yeesh!) Guys...
One day while I was in Jss1(year 7) my mummy and I had an argument. I was so angry that I refused to sit at the front of the car during school run in the mornings. But of course... I had to greet her and answer every single question she asked me.
I wouldn't lie... I really missed singing worship music with her, talking to her about random stuff, laughing with mummy and then kissing her goodbye as I entered the school building. But I was going to stand my ground. "Verily Verily...Nnenna... Mummy must apologize to you".
About three to four days later, When we had dropped my siblings off and were heading to my school, My mummy said... "Nnenna...we need to talk." She did not say sorry o...hmm...
She then told me about what she had seen me do and that she was not happy about that. She also explained to me one thing she has always told me throughout my life and since I started to understand things; that no matter what Mummy will always love me ( I'm starting to cry.๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
She also told me that she had seen every single entry I had written in my diary and all the things I said about her. The moment she said those things, tears began to wet my skirt and I didn't want to rub them off. And she also finished up with that same statement "my mummy would always love me."
No words could explain how special that day was. No words could ever tell you guys how special my mum is. Knowing all the things I had written in that diary, she had kept them to herself and never said anything about it. I cried out so much. I hugged my mummy and said sorry ( I'm starting to cry again) and then gave her a big kiss. I didn't want to leave the car. I just wanted to keep on hugging her. But that day was definitely amazing and every time I think of her love, that day comes into my mind as a true documentation of how much my mum means to me.
Mummy is definitely, undeniably my hero. I love you so much my mummy. Know that nothing feels better to me than being around you.
